About Ruby College of Preceptors

The Ruby College of Preceptors, Ruby College of Preceptors, founded by the educationist Mr.N.SANKARAPANDIAN M.A.B.Ed. Chairman of RUBY EDUCATIONAL TRUST, MADURAI – 03, strives for generating an efficient and capable teaching community in this part of our Tamilnadu.

Affiliation

The college was started in the academic year 2007 – 2008 and has been recognized by NCTE (F.SR0/NCTE/B.Ed./2006-07/12237 Dt.28.09.2007) and affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University (CDC-3/FrA/RCP/B.Ed./2007-2008) and later to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University,(Code No. 11214) Chennai – 05.

Our Location

The college is situated on a spacious campus on the National Highway at Palanganatham, having easy and convenient access to any part of Madurai town and other parts of the district.

Infrastructure

The college is best provided with full infrastructure facilities. It is well equipped and maintained with LANGUAGE LAB, SCIENCE LAB, COMPUTER LAB, AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENTS & PSYCHOLOGY LAB. It has a Library of vast collection of books 5448 books with 1816 title. 65 Journals and a COUNCELLING CENTRE AND PLACEMENT BUREAU. The College maintains a separate hostel for boys and girls.

Co-Curricular activities

The college offers opportunity for activities like, Camp life, Scout camp, Tour, Excursion, Field Trip, Language Clubs, Science & Maths Clubs, Group Discussion and Spoken English.

B.Ed is a course of two academic year spreading from August/September to May/June, With tuition fees of rupees 37500 & MISC of rupees 12500. The college offers the following subjects.

eligibility for admission to the course

Candidates with the following marks in Part III (Major and Allied subjects) in the Bachelor’s Degree are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Programme O.C. – 50%, B.C – 45%, M.B.C. 43%, SC/ST – 40%. The admission criteria however shall be as per the norms prescribed by the University or the State Government from time to time.

The basis of selection shall be in accordance with the statutory provisions of the of Tamilnadu Teachers Education University in force from time to time.
